It's yachting, not cruising

I know, I know. This is meant to be a blog about cruising not yachting. Who wants to hear about pampered millionaires on their private yachts when you could be reading about the latest cruise news?
Well actually.......
The line between yachting and cruising might not be as clear cut as you once thought. Have you ever heard of a  cruise line called Sea Dream Yacht Club?

So who are Sea Dream?
Well they're a small company with only two ships in their fleet, the Sea Dream I an II. Where they differ from what they call big ship cruising is that their ships can only hold 112 guests with 95 members of staff to look after them. They don't even call their ships ships. Rather they call them mega-yachts; which should give you a clue to the kind of experience that they try to offer to people onboard. They want their guests to feel as though they're holidaying on their own private yacht and everything onboard is geared up to reflect this.
Because of the size of their ships they can obviously get you to the really small intimate ports that other cruise ships either can't get to or aren't allowed to go as the ports aren't geared up to accept thousands of tourists in one go.  From May to October they sail Northern Europe, the Baltics and the Med before traveling down to the Caribbean from November to April.

So what can you expect onboard?
You'll be welcomed onboard by the Captain personally and with 95 staff to only 112 guests you'll be pampered none stop with six star service.

Both sea Dream I and II have retractable marinas so whenever you are docked if you don't fancy going onshore you can have a play with all their water sport toys. Glass bottom kayaking, water skiing, banana boats, tubing, boarding and snorkeling are all available to mention just a few.

Whenever they're down in the Caribbean they also have a signature champagne and caviar splash, a gourmet barbecue served on bone china on a sandy beach usually to the accompaniment of a local band.

As to entertainment onboard both ships have casinos where you can kick back with a bit of Black Jack or Poker and pretend you're James Bond to your hearts content.
On clear nights Sea Dream will also set a screen up by the pool so you can watch movies up on deck under the stars, (popcorn available on request).

So if you're fed up of cruise ships getting bigger and bigger one of the Sea Dream ships may well be perfect for you.

Happy cruising
