Until a couple of days ago if you had asked me what RCI stood for I would of said Royal Caribbean International, but you could now be forgiven for thinking it stands for Royal Chocolate International.
A few months ago RCI started trialling a ‘chocolate breakfast’, including hot chocolate, chocolate milkshakes, chocolate pancakes with whipped cream and chocolate waffles with caramel-banana topping, although I couldn’t find any sign of Coco Pops on the menu. The kids menu maybe?
Lisa Bauer, RCI’s operations manager has said the ‘chocolate breakfast has been a tremendous hit’.
Apparently over 1200 people turned up for one chocolate offering last week onboard the Oasis of the seas.
RCI now plan to introduce this sugar rush right across their fleet giving all their guests an early morning boost.
So what do people think about this? Having a ‘sweet, sugary’ breakfast is quite common in the States but can seem quite strange to us Brits used to a full English first thing in the morning. We’ve got used to the American style tipping and alcohol laws but is this one step to far? Let me know what you think.
Happy Cruising
