After posting about the giant Wii screens available on NCL ships recently a lot of people asked what else was available for the kids to do as a lot of parents didn’t want their children spending all holiday playing computer, no matter how big the screen.
Now before I give you all a quick run down off what else is available there was one more query I wanted to answer first. Yes parents are allowed to play on the giant Wii screen as well, and regular tournaments are available for any adult willing to be soundly beaten and embarrassed by their children. But back to the rest of the entertainment. NCL have several different ‘clubs’ for different age groups with age appropriate activities, all supervised by their highly trained and vetted youth staff, so parents can feel safe in leaving the children to play whilst they enjoy some well earned rest.
Juniors –(2-5years) the kiddies have been given a space of their own where, because attention spans can be a problem they can enjoy a myriad of activities like story telling, arts and crafts and treasure hunts.
Firstmates – (6-9 years) NCL recognise that children will be a bit more independent by this age so try to provide more actives and excitement including arts and crafts and all the latest computer games for the Wii.
Navigators – (10-12) Encouraging this age bands growing sense of adventure NCL lay on team building challenges, parties, scavenger hunts and of course the Wii.
If you book a cruise on the Norwegian Epic they have laid on a gigantic kids area with a section called recess including the Wii, an interactive light up dance area, a karaoke stage that can double as up surround sound cinema, and extended hours so Mom and Dad can really chill out and unwind.
Teens – (13-17) To give the teenagers a sense of controlling their own holiday NCL have introduced a teen centre to hang out in with airhockey, foosball, a video jukebox and of course the Wii.
It is important to note that activities can vary from ship to ship, if in doubt always ask us what is available or have a look at our brouchers.
Happy cruising
