How are you all feeling today? Good? Bad? Happy? Depressed?
Well according to a scientific formula you should all be really depressed today as the Monday on the third week of January is 'officialy' the most depressing day of the year.
This is due to a combination of factors including the weather, rapidly disappearing memories of Christmas, Christmas debt, people giving up on New Years resolutions and the fact that for most people pay day is still at least another week away.
However, it may all just be a load of rubbish. The term was first used by UK psychologist Cliff Arnall way back in 2005 when he created a mathematical formula to explain the 'mid-winter blues' but he'd been commissioned by a travel company to come up with the formula in the first place.
What do you think? Are you feeling depressed today? I guess the snow has cheered a lot of us up this year, (or made it even worse I suppose). Are any of your work colleagues looking down - Well now you know why!
Oh well, only another four days till the weekend.
Happy cruising
