You may or may not know it but if ever a client calls looking for a low cost cruise, or a really last minute cruise, it tends to be a Thomson cruise I end up offering. They always have plenty of departures from regional airports as opposed to the normal Manchester/London option offered by other cruise lines with great affordable prices for people.
If I have any problems with Thomson cruises it's been that they never offer any deals on cruises leaving the UK, so if you don't want to fly you've been stuck a little for choice with them.
Well all that looks set to change for their summer 2012 season. I've heard recently that Thomson will be bringing the Spirit back to the UK for the Summer of 2012. Who knows, if it proves to be popular they may even look at extending this.
From May to July 2012 she will be doing round trip sailings from Newcastle, great news for Northerners who don't want to fly but can't face the long drive down to Southampton and from August to September she'll be sailing out of Harwich.
She'll be busy, as Thomson have quite a few itineraries planned for her including the Baltics, Fjords, Iceland, Belgium and Holland, mini cruises and a special around the UK tour taking in the Orkneys.
Plus, as long as you book before June 2011 Thomson are offering On Board Credit, 25% savings, or coach transfers/free carparking for both Newcastle and Harwich.
I think this is going to be really popular for 2012 so best advice is to book early and take advantage of the extras being offered.
Have you ever sailed with Thomson before? Did you enjoy it? And does a UK departure sound tempting? Let me know back here
Happy cruising

I'm thinking of booking a late (about eight weeks before) trip in September with RCI. Do you think that is too soon to get the best deals? Trying to weigh up a cheap cruise but realising we won't get free parking or onboard credit so not sure the cheaper cost will really be any cheaper.

Hi Liz, that's normally quite a hard question to answer but RCL have their price promise so nine times out of ten, (with them at least), you're better off booking early for the OBC offers and then calling them if the price dops for a refund.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to talk this over feel free to give me a call on 0800 408 6142.
I didn't realise you could ask for a refund if the price of your holiday drops, which it often does. I wonder how many firms would do that.
