Paul Gauguin was a leading French post-impressionist artist. He was a leading figure in the Symbolist movement as a painter, sculptor, print maker, ceramist and writer. But more importantly he has lent his name to one of the most luxurious cruise ships at sea......
The Paul Gauguin, sailing year round in the waters of French Polynesia and Tahiti.
The Paul Gauguin was designed, literally bottom up, to sail the shallow waters of Tahiti and French Polynesia. Like a of of luxury cruise ships it was deliberately designed small to allow it to visit the small intimate ports that abound in these archipelagos.
Interestingly it is also the only cruise ship to be named after a man, that I can think of, currently under sail.
All of the cabins on this ship are outside cabins, with 70% of them being balcony cabins.
The ship has an onboard water marina for when it's docked so that you can enjoy wind surfing, kayaking, water skiing and because of the shallow waters you can even go snorkeling in the crystal clear waters around the ship.
There's nothing formal about these cruises either, everything onboard reflects the relaxed, informal atmosphere of the Tahitian islands you're sailing in. That informal atmosphere even extends as far as the crew, called the Gaugines, they're a troupe of local Tahitians who serve as the cruise staff, looking after all the entertainment, adding a unique Tahitian flair to your onboard cruise.
Even though the ship is quite small, there is still three open dining restaurants onboard with complimentary wine served with your dinners. Paul Gauguin cruises are very proud of their food, in fact they even go so far to boast it's the best in the South Seas although as I don't know of many other ships that sail the South Seas I'm not sure how great a boast this is. Have any of you ever sailed with Paul Gauguin before? If you have please let me know about the dining here.
There are also a lot of other benefits to booking a Paul Gauguin cruise:
All your gratuities are pre-paid so you don't need to pay them onboard;
Complimentary beverages including select wines and spirits, soft drinks, bottled water and hot beverages served throughout the ship;
Complimentary 24-hour room service;
Refrigerator replenished daily with soft drinks, beer and bottled water;
Complimentary use of their exclusive, private white sand beach in Bora Bora with bar service, volleyball, and great snorkeling;
You get a complimentary day on their private islet, Motu Mahana—off the coast of Taha'a featuring snorkeling, water sports, barbecue with full bar service, and Polynesian hospitality.
So if you're looking for a cruise to Tahiti or French Polynesia or you just fancied a luxury cruise somewhere different, this cruise line may well be the one for you!
Happy cruising

Hi all,
ReplyDeleteThe Paul Gauguin was designed specifically to sail the shallow seas of Tahiti and French Polynesia, visiting the lesser-known small ports on these exotic islands that the larger ships can't reach. It is a small luxury ship with an onboard watersports marina, a choice of three open-seating dining venues and an extensive spa. Thanks a lot!
