MV Voyager - V.O.Ds new ship

I wrote a post yesterday about Voyages of Discovery, (V.O.D), which you can read by clicking here.
In it I gave you a bit of information about V.O.D; what the cruises were like; what the MV Discovery was like and a few pros and cons of the cruise line. I also promised to give you a bit more info about V.O.Ds new ship the MV Voyager, being launched later this year. The really nice thing about this ship is that it answers a lot of the problems that some people may have about V.O.D as a cruise line.

As I said yesterday, V.O.D is a small cruise line that only operates small ships. This theme will be continued with the MV Voyager but they're going to be adding several features to her that I think will be really exciting.
One of the big things people complain about on the MV Discovery is that because she's an old ship she doesn't have any balconies. Well worry not, the MV Voyager will have!
Of the 35 top cabins onboard 30 of then will have private balconies for guests to book.
The other thing that guests have requested before on the MV Discovery is for an open dining option in the main dining room. The MV Discovery will cater for this with an open dining option available for guests.
As I've said she's going to keep that small ship feel, (with room for only 550 guests onboard), but with a raft of new features to make her feel very modern, including......
  • 3 restaurants with open dining and the option of al fresco dining, (weather permitting!)
  • 2 lounges
  • 3 bars
  • Lecture theatre, (what V.O.D cruise ship would be complete without one?)
  • Library
  • Pool with two jacuzzi
  • Beauty salon
  • Health and fitness centre
  • Card/function room
  • Internet cafe
So if you've been thinking of booking a V.O.D cruise but just haven't liked the look of the MV Discovery then the MV Voyager may well be the perfect answer for you and for maiden season she's going to be offering some great itineraries down in South America!

Happy cruising
