New for 2011

Back to work tomorrow after my little holiday and I'm looking forward to getting back into the thick of things. Quite a lot's been going on at Cruise.co.uk whilst I've been away.  I'll talk more at some other point about some of what we've got planned for 2011 but my favourite change from December had to be the life on board section of our website.

For anyone who wants to see it first hand just click the link I'm providing here. But in brief it's an amazing new section to our website letting you see what life onboard is really like.
For the last six months or so our marketing team have been asking any staff members going on a cruise to 'liberate' any menus, drinks price guides, onboard ship newspapers, shore excursion guides etc and bring them back to the office. They have then spent quite a lot of time sorting the information, organising it and uploading it to our website.
But what does this, in practical terms, mean for you?

Well let's use an example:
Mr and Mrs Smith from Anywhereshire have spent the last ten years cruising with Cunard; they have a special occasion coming up, say a ruby wedding anniversary, and they fancy trying a different cruise ship.  They've heard really good things about Crystal cruises, but how good are they really? They could read the official information on the cruise lines own website, or they could check the review section of our website, both excellent sources of information. However they can now, with just a couple of clicks of a button, check out all the menus onboard for the different restaurants on the ship. They can compare drinks prices; check our spa guides; daily planners listing the entertainment on board etc giving then a much more accurate picture of what day to day life is like onboard and easily allowing them to see the differences between different brands.

I think this is a fantastic tool that's going to help a lot of people decide on their perfect cruise. It's also nice from a nostalgia point of view to check out cruise ships you've already been on and reminisce about a particular meal or port.
So who's had a chance to use this yet. If you haven't check out the link, come back and tell me what you think.

Happy Cruising
