How many cruises do/should you book a year?

I suppose the easy answer to that is: 'As many as I can!'
Which is really the point of todays blog. Which is it better to do do you think? Book one 6 star cruise a year? Or several 4/5 star cruises for a cheaper price? One luxury cruise? Or several 'normal' cruises?
It's a difficult question to answer because it's so subjective, it really does depend on the person/persons. But there are a few pointers that might help you make up your mind.

First of all, are you retired? It may sound a silly point but most of us don't have enough holiday days to book three or four cruises a year, (at least I know I don't). So it may be worth saving the pennys and booking one big cruise.
(A quick side point here for any first time cruisers reading this; it doesn't matter if you book a 4 star, 5 star or 6 star cruise, you should have a great time either way, there really is no other holiday like a cruise).

The second point you should consider is your budget. I don't just mean the price of the cruises either. If you're booking 3 or 4 cruises a year you obviously will need 3 or 4 sets of spending money so that can quite often put the overall cost of the cruises up making the more expensive cruise, (sometimes), the cheaper option.

The third and last point to be considered has to be personal choice. Are you the kind of person who will enjoy a 6 star cruise? Are you the kind of person who would enjoy a 4 star cruise.  Do your holidays have to be extra perfect every year? Or are you happy with a normal, (if such a thing exists), cruise ship?

I'm genuinely interested in hearing back from you on this one. Which option do you think is better? Which option do you normally go for? One big expensive cruise a year or lots of little cheap ones?

Happy cruising
