Did you know P&O is 175 years old next year? I know they're part of the Carnival corporation now but they're still British run and there's not many other companies that can claim a record that long.
As you'd expect for their cruises 2012 they've got a lot of plans with new cruises, destinations and deals planned.
The bit I'm most interested in for 2012 though has to be the date of their anniversary, 03rd July 2012!
All seven ships, (yes all of them), of the P&O fleet will be sailing out of Southampton on the same day. It sounds exciting but I can only imagine what the traffic will be like. I think if it was me going I'd be getting down to Southampton the day before and making my way to the docks by foot. It's going to be bumper to bumper traffic all day of the sailing.
Each ship in the Grand Event, as P&O are calling it, will depart on a different Grand Event cruise, with different itineraries to suit all tastes. There's going to be a sail away party on the deck of each ship with the champagne flowing and the marching bands........errr, marching.
The ships will then all leave Southampton at the same time, leaving in procession, which should be a sight to see, where they will all rendezvous in open water for a final salute to each other before sailing off into the sunset(s).
Once you're onboard the theme of the cruise will be 'heritage' with specially laid on entertainment like a 175th anniversary gala dinner, heritage art displays and guest speakers.
But here's the exciting bit! Onboard each ship there will be a special draw for each lead passenger in the cabin plus one guest to win a full 2013 world cruise! Obviously if you're looking to play the odds here Adonia, with a maximum guest capacity of 710 is going to be the best cruise to book if you want to win.
Below you can find the different cruise/cruise numbers available;
Azura - 11 night Atlantic cruise (A215)
Ventura - 17 night Central Med (N216)
